It's MerMan! He hasn't got much in the looks department and like Rodney Dangerfield, he gets no respect. Bust listen up Jack, he's pretty bad ass. Check out the cool gill ears and giant corn on the cob sword!
This is my pal Keppi before I knew him in my home town Ottawa standing in front of a mural I did at the Dominion Tavern sometime in the mid 90's. They used it on the inside of a Groovie Ghoulies album, I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw it. Small world. I'm also very stoked to have Keppi do a little writing for my book. I was visiting Ottawa this summer and was happy to see old Franky still up on the wall and still in pretty good shape. I remeber my friend (great artist) Heith hanging out wile I was painting this and he was like "dude, you should paint his eye white, like a zombi".yaaaa! Thanks Heith!
When I was a kid I was obsessed with Iron Maiden. I still like the band to this day and still admire the artwork. The artist is Derek Riggs and he has a new book out. Run For Cover: The Art Of Derek Riggs The art on these first six covers are untouchable. The first four have that iconic letterhead, in bold red and white. I remember being kind of bummed when they changed it. They are just so damn iconic. The only other bands to have a similar string of great album cover art I can think of are Kiss and Motorhead. Hats off to Derek Riggs.
My pal Piero Deluca. What a guy! He makes these incredible hot rod/Kustom Kulture DVD's that you Just gotta see. It's the best stuff out there in the world of car DVD's. I can't believe i haven't posted anything about them yet. Anyway, all of them are great so you can't go wrong when choosing one. I was fortunate enough to have Piero and his lovely Wife Evette over to our pad in SF last year to film a bit on my artwork, and of course a little mini bike mayhem. It was great to be apart of the MF world, thanks Piero! Check 'em out @ http://www.madfabricators.com
Well, kinda new anyway. The art is from my first Poster Pop sticker set back in '04 but the boards are new. Made by the fine folks at www.popartskateboards.com these bad boys come in old school shapes that make for a sweet pool ride as well as a street deck shape. Great for smashing buses, cabs and city property but also a perfect street weapon! 3 brand new designs coming soon!
