Van-O-the week Lil Blue '62

Love them old Fords.
This one is pretty darn sick, nice pinstriping, lettering and check out the black velvet painting that would make Leteg himself proud!
I'm a shameless Cragar 5 spoke fan. (Always was, am and will be) Those rims look good on pretty much everything pre 1980. That goes for Radars as well. (Must be the Munsers influence?) I scanned in the article as well.

Laser Discs

Laser Discs! Yup, the giant CD dinosaur movie format.
I'm not going to get into the zorky history of the LD, but just wanted to post this.
I had always admired them but they were very obscure and pricey in Canada.
That all changed when I moved to San Francisco back in '03 and had a studio 1 block from Amoeba music. Tucked away in the corner of the movies room is the LD section.
It's packed with great films and are usually under $3!
I got my player for $30 on Craig's list.
People kind of look at me funny when I tell them I collect LD's, or they don't know what the hell your talking about.
LD's died off in the late 90's but left a huge trail of films available.
They made pretty much everything on LD.
It's kinda funny to see other people digging in the LD's at Amoeba, I'm like "I wonder if that's the guy who bought the last copy of Barfly?"

Thee Ghoulie Gillies by XNO

We just got our painting back from monster artist XNO and it has been worth the wait!

Thanks Chet!

Van-O-the week (04 29 08)

There are some points on this weeks van I don't really like, for instance the lame flame job, but all that gets overlooked when you check out that mural, WOW! Wud is it?
I don't fucking know but it's totally rad! I can make out a few coffins and what looks to be Conan or Medusa, what do you see? haha.
Rolling evil, pretty cool.

Saturday May 3rd @ the LUCKY 13 SF

Alan's bringing out some killer black line drawings and some rare as fuck posters plus a few other surprises. I'll have some black lines as well and my new ShrunkenHead mugs.
Friend Justin will be DJing.
After this party I'll probably sleep till Tuesday.

Dirty Donny's ShrunkenHead set from Tiki Farm

This is my ShrunkenHead Decanter and mug from www.tikifarm.com
The mug is new and the decanter was last years best selling item at Tiki Farm.
We will be making a special addition set to be released this fall, rumor has it a skateboard is involved.
When you buy a mug you get the drink recipe concocted by none other than martin of Forbidden Island Alameda.
I can't forget to mention how stoked I am to have my own tiki mug, it's a dream come true for this monster maker.

Fathom

This was one of the my favorite machines I played at last years Pin-a-gogo show.
Good game play and I dug all the blue lights.
It's kind of creepy too. The show is amazing for discovering new old machines that you would never get the chance to play and if your thinking of buying a pin it's a great place to try some out.

Best party invite

My buddy Russ turned 40 a little wile back and this was the party invite we got in the mail.
If you know Russ it's even funnier.
When we got to the party the front lawn was completely covered by a bounce house they had rented.
At the end of the night the cops came and tried to get Russ out of the bounce house.
Legend has it he challenged them to a "Bounce off" yelling "Leave your guns at the door!". His girlfriend Amy explained to the cops that it was his 40th B day and they laughed and told them to keep it down.
Hey Russ, 17 for ever dude!

Van-O-the-week 01

I am going to try and post a van a week but I might forget.
I stumbled on a gold mine of custom van stuff this week.
While reading through my newly acquired treasures I figured hey, I have enough here to post one a week forever!
I think the name of this van stuck out for me and check the interior, it's so "Over-the-top-ugly" it's cool, haha. What a lost art.
At first glance the paint comes of a little boring compared to other Vans of the day, but have a close look at the pinstriping. It's my favorite kind. Just follow the natural shape, trace the curves and panels, let it flow and don't get carried away!
Thats art.

Just giver!

“I remember this one time we locked Donny in the trunk of my car ‘cuz he didn’t have no money to pitch in for gas. A coupla hours later, he crawled outta the trunk, all covered in grease, his face bloody from the jack that was flying around, and he says, “I got dibs on the trunk for the ride home.” Deaner "Fubar"

My pal Paul Spence Gave me some quotes for my upcoming book, all are pure gold and I laughed so hard it hurt.
Here is one of 'em!
Thanks Paul.

Cider

This is my dog Cider.
He's 125 boxer mastiff mix.
He does this stuff all the time.
He's like a living Hallmark moment.
Relaxer Master.
He pretty much sleeps and hangs out.
He likes corn cobs and coffee grains from the garbage, and other garbage. He likes to take huge dumps 5 times a day.
He also likes bones and ice cubes.
He snors and farts really loud.
He's the best.
