Release the Cracken!

The Cracken is one of my favorite monsters.
Created by Ray Harryhausen for the 1981 film Clash of the Titans. I think it's one of his best.

Villain of the week "Beastman"

He's harry like an Orange cannery and he's got cool teeth!
Second only to one, he really doesn't mind being number two.
He tells us "Hey, my boss is Skeletor, he has a cool skull mask and I don't have to deal with the stress of planing to take over and conquer things. I just kick it with my home boys here at Snake mountain. Plus check me out man, I ain't that bad in the looks dept. You should see some of the other villains working for Skeletor, what a bunch of ZoRkS!"
Look, I got an action figure, what do you got pal?"
After this interview took place Beastman got himself a small respectable fortune by suing the Therm-a-Rest neck pillow company. Those stupid things you see people wearing on long plane rides.
"I invented that shit, it's my thing man!"

Blackheart San Francisco

I did this T shirt for my friend Jeff at Blackheart Tattoo here in SF.
They had a great BBQ last night. I think everyone is hurting today.
I took a few photos last night, not many though, I'm not much of a photographer.
Thanks for the BBQ/party guys!

TIN MEN

Great film! Lousy soundtrack but the film makes up for it.

The Kahiki!

Here are some more shots of the Kahiki.

Kahiki closing party back in the year 2000

Thu, 31 Aug 2000.
Just bumped into these old photos for the Kahiki closing party.
The Kahiki was truly one of the most amazing old school tiki bar/lounge/restaurants.
The closing party was put together by my friend Otto of Tiki news magazine.
Otto had asked me to design the poster for this event.
I was stoked to say the least.
It was a great party, an event to remember.

Villain of the week "Ming the Merciless"

Ming's got no hair, but he don't care!
He makes up for it with all his cool Rocket ships, ray guns, servants, a harem of pretty woman and a unicorn stable! (He doesn't really have a unicorn stable but don't tell Oriana that cause she'll be bummed)
He's also pretty darn bling tastic in the pimpin' department.
In fact, he's got one bad ass super ring that's so bling it shoots a shower of silver and golden lightning all over the bloody place!
Well, maybe it doesn't shoot lightning but it sure looks like it does.
When Ming's not trying to kick Flash Gordon's ass he's trying to destroy Earth, he doesn't like White Castle burgers he says "They are to small, how foolish!" We told him to try In and Out and he asked if they were open past 10pm and if there was free parking, said he would give it a shot.

Dirty Magazine

This is my old Fanzine I did in the 90's.
Just picked them up from my folks.
I remember them being allot better than they actually are.
Reading threw them again did make me laugh.
This is where the "Dirty" nick name comes from, if you were wondering?
The magazine name comes from my group of pals back in Ottawa "The Dirty's".
This zine being a compilation of all our work.
It was allot of fun to do and I could see it growing.
I was just more into doing art and this thing was taking up too much of my time.
Dirty was fun.

Boss Fink

I did this a while back for a group show of '12 Rat Fink statues that were part of the Ed "Big Daddy" Roth display at the Peterson's auto museum in L.A.
It's also in the book "Rat Fink's Revenge".
You can get the book and '12 poly stone resin statue here http://www.tornadodesign.la/store/ratfinksrevenge_ce.html?sid=00015hVspweaf20jWo533p3
I wanted to do something that would reflect on 60's era Ed Roth and his Revel model kit days. This was built out of plywood, hand cut with my kustom jigsaw, painted in acrylic then wired up with lights.
It has a locking maintenance door and a secret "Rat Hold" in the side with a little Roth diorama.
It's now the proud property of artist pal Von Franco and sits in his Austin Texas home as the center piece to one of the best Kustom Kulture collections I have ever seen.
I did a series of 3D shadow/light box art that I will feature in my book.
I will definitely revisit this medium in the near future.

Bones Ripper art show.

Got this from Cab's blog (see links)
Coming soon to the next ASR trade show in San Diego! Many artists involved with this great collaborative event:)
I'm not doing too many art shows these days for many reasons (One being I'm very busy working on my first art book) but I'll be making something special for this.
Thanks for hooking me up Stevie!

Rat Fink helmets

My pal Taka Of "DIGGIT!" Japan and Erosty Mike "Erosty LA" gave me one of these for X mas one year. Our friend Brian ate shit on my mini bike last summer, he tore a ligament in his knee but the helmet worked great! Next time we'll have him were it on his knee.
